How To Prevent Your WhatsApp Account From Getting Highjacked
There are several to secure your personal belongings, the same is for your WhatsApp account. So let’s look at those several ways or action you can take to properly secure your WhatsApp account.
1. Two – Step Verification : One way that you can tighten the security in your WhatsApp account is by activating the Two – Step Verification. What does this mean?
When you turn on the 2 – Step Verification you will be given a 4 – digit security code. Make sure you remember or store those digits safe. So anytime you want to create a WhatsApp account with the same number you will be asked to provide those 4 – digits security codes.
This simply means that if someone were to try and use your WhatsApp phone number to open another WhatsApp account in order to personate you, he’ll be asked to enter those 4 – digits security codes which of course he doesn’t have and thus his attempt would fail.
The Two – Step Verification by WhatsApp is very important that you turn it on. It is very effective in preventing your account from being highjacked. To switch on 2 – step verification just click on security.
2. Fingerprint Lock : Fingerprint lock is also an effective way to secure your WhatsApp. It only works to stop people who are with your phone from opening and reading your WhatsApp chats.
Think of it as a default phone lock screen. Without the owner unlocking it there is no way no one can. To turn on fingerprint lock on your WhatsApp simply click on Privacy >> Fingerprint Lock.
